Litigation file concerning the estate of William A. Morse, 1981-1983.

Case file, 1981-1983, concerning the attorney general's investigation into a possible claim by the state to the property of William A. Morse, who died in Minneapolis, September 6, 1981. Morse, the owner of the Continental Hotel and other property in Minneapolis, left a will leaving his property to the janitor of his hotel. The will was contested by three individuals claiming to be the children of Morse. The state's official concern with the case was only a very remote possibility that the estate would escheat to the state. According to the Hennepin County Probate Court (June 1986) its file on this case (No. 143983) has not been closed and further litigation is still possible.
